Lyrc Inc.'s mission is to give musicians back control over their content, audiences, and careers while providing fans with meaningful connections to the music and artists they love.
Lyrc Inc. uses the AT Protocol authentication system for account creation and login. This means:
You are responsible for:
For musicians: Account verification may be required to post content, ensuring only real artists can upload music to maintain platform integrity.
For fans: You can engage with all content, support artists, and participate in the community through your account.
By using AT Protocol authentication, Lyrc Inc. reinforces our commitment to decentralization and putting control back in the hands of users rather than centralized platforms.
By submitting content to Lyrc Inc., you retain full ownership of your music, videos, interpretations, lyrics, and all other content. You grant Lyrc Inc. only the limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license necessary to display and distribute your content on the Lyrc platform and connected AT Protocol networks for the sole purpose of operating the service.
This license includes only the rights to host, display, and share your content as posted by you on the platform. Lyrc Inc. does not claim ownership of your content and will not reproduce, sell, or distribute your content outside of the platform's intended functionality without your explicit written consent.
Lyrc Inc. will not use any user content to train artificial intelligence models or machine learning systems. Your creative work will never be used to develop AI music generation or any other automated content creation tools.
You may delete your content at any time, and upon deletion, Lyrc Inc.'s license to use that content will terminate, except for any content that has been shared by other users within the platform's normal social features.
Lyrc Inc. respects artist rights and intellectual property. We are committed to supporting artists' control over their creative work and protecting human creativity from AI exploitation.
Your Content: You retain full ownership of all music, videos, song interpretations, lyrics, and other creative content you post on Lyrc. Your intellectual property rights remain entirely with you.
Platform Technology: Lyrc Inc. retains ownership of the platform's software, code, design, features, and proprietary technology used to operate the service.

To maintain Lyrc as a safe, supportive platform for musicians and fans, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
Violation of these terms may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban from the platform. Lyrc Inc. reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Lyrc Inc. does not warrant that:
You acknowledge that Lyrc Inc. is not responsible for content posted by other users, and you access such content at your own risk. While we strive to verify artists and maintain quality standards, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, legality, or quality of all user-generated content.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LYRC INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
IN NO EVENT SHALL LYRC INC.'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE PLATFORM EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LYRC INC., IF ANY, IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the limitations above may not apply to you.
Lyrc Inc. reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will:
Your continued use of the Platform after changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must stop using the Platform.
We are committed to transparency with our artist and fan communities. Significant changes that affect user rights, content ownership, or platform functionality will be communicated clearly with explanation of how they impact users.
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution: Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@lyrc.social. We'll work in good faith to resolve disputes amicably.
Binding Arbitration: If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.
Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes with Lyrc Inc. on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.
Lyrc is built on the AT Protocol (Authenticated Transfer Protocol), the same decentralized technology that powers Bluesky. This integration provides significant benefits to artists and fans:
Decentralized Identity: Your Lyrc account uses AT Protocol authentication, meaning you own your identity and credentials. You're not locked into Lyrc's platform—your account and content can work across any AT Protocol-compatible network.
Cross-Platform Reach: Content you post on Lyrc automatically becomes discoverable across the AT Protocol network, including Bluesky's 40+ million users, exponentially expanding your potential audience without creating multiple accounts.
Content Ownership: Unlike traditional social media platforms, the AT Protocol ensures you maintain true ownership of your content and social connections. If you ever want to leave Lyrc, you can take your content, followers, and social graph with you.
Interoperability: AT Protocol enables Lyrc to work seamlessly with other decentralized social applications, creating a more open and connected internet for musicians.
No Algorithmic Lock-In: The decentralized nature means artists aren't at the mercy of a single company's algorithm changes or policy decisions that can devastate reach overnight.
By using Lyrc, you acknowledge that your public content may be visible on other AT Protocol networks as part of the decentralized architecture. This is a feature, not a limitation—it ensures your music reaches the widest possible audience while you maintain ownership and control.
Lyrc may introduce virtual currency ("Lyrc Coins") that users can purchase and use within the Platform to support artists, access premium features, or participate in community activities.
Purchase and Use:
Artist Payments: Artists who receive Lyrc Coins from fans may convert them to real currency according to our revenue-sharing policies, which will be detailed separately. Lyrc Inc. is committed to ensuring artists receive fair compensation with transparent, artist-friendly terms.
No Cash Value: Lyrc Coins have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash or monetary equivalent from Lyrc Inc. They exist solely as a medium of support and engagement within the Platform.
Account Closure: Upon account termination or closure, any unused Lyrc Coins will be forfeited. We recommend using coins to support artists you love before closing your account.
Note: The Lyrc Coins feature is currently in development and may not be available during the beta period. Details about artist revenue sharing, conversion rates, and specific functionality will be provided before launch.
Lyrc Inc. respects the intellectual property rights of artists and others. We expect our users to do the same. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
DMCA Notice Requirements: If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed on Lyrc, please send a DMCA notice to legal@lyrc.social with:
Counter-Notice: If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice with the same requirements outlined in DMCA law.
Repeat Infringer Policy: Lyrc Inc. will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. We take intellectual property rights seriously and are committed to protecting artists' creative work.
Artist Protection: As a platform built for musicians, we understand how important copyright protection is. We encourage artists to report any unauthorized use of their music promptly so we can take swift action.
Lyrc Inc. is committed to giving artists and fans control over their data, consistent with our decentralized, user-first philosophy.
Your Data Rights:
Data Retention: After account deletion, we may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention), or to comply with legal obligations. Backed-up data will be deleted within 90 days of account closure.
AT Protocol Considerations: Because Lyrc operates on the decentralized AT Protocol, content you've posted publicly may be cached or retained by other AT Protocol services even after deletion from Lyrc. This is an inherent characteristic of decentralized systems that provides resilience and user data ownership.
Portability: We support your right to data portability. You can export your music, interpretations, follower lists, and other content in standard formats to use on other platforms or services.
For data export requests, account deletion, or questions about data retention, contact us at legal@lyrc.social.
If you have any questions or concerns about our Terms of Service, don't hesitate to reach out.
